Conference- Interactive Discussion

Interactive Discussion was held on Evidences of Change: Impacts at local to global level, understanding adaptation planning and practices to climate change; CBA in Practice in Sectors and Regions: water, agriculture, biodiversity, human health, infrastructure, coastal zone, dry land , droughth, mountain, floodplain, urban; Knowledge, Education and Awarencess on Climate Change: Challenges and opportunities of mainstreaming adaptation; Partnerships in Adaptation: Global, Regional, National and local level.

Three-day interactive discussions held on 22-24 February 2009 in the Dhaka Sheraton Hotel. On Sunday, 22 February, an opening plenary session was held on climate change science and adaptation, followed by two technical sessions on methods and tools for designing CBA, and four technical sessions on adaptation measures and practices in agriculture. In the evening, a keynote address by Nobel Peace Laureate Muhammad Yunus was delivered during a dinner event.

On Monday, 23 February, participants heard reports and presentations from the six field groups. Parallel technical sessions were then held on: women, education and awareness for adaptation; advancing adaptation through communication for development; mainstreaming and partnership for adaptation; disaster and climate change; and urban adaptation and Climate Change. On Tuesday, 24 February, a technical session was held where participants heard report on Terminologies on CBA and CBA NGO Initiatives.
