Mr. Rabbani has been working as a Senior Research Officer at Bangladesh Centre for Advanced Studies (BCAS), an independent research and policy institute in Dhaka, for more than 4 years. He has completed a Masters of Science degree in Environmental Science from The University of New South Wales, Australia. He also holds M.Sc. in Fisheries and B.Sc. (Hons) in Zoology, from the University of Dhaka. He has been trained in environmental issues and has gathered extensive experiences in research related to water, environment and climate change.

Mr Rabbani was involved with a number of projects funded by UNDP, EU, The Netherlands Government, IFS, CapNet, SIDA, CIDA, UNEPRRCAP, UNEP RISO Centre, Denmark, DIFID etc. He also worked with a number of projects for the different ministries of the Government of Bangladesh. The major completed projects include “Baseline Study on Disaster Risk Management and Climate Change Impacts Knowledge and Understanding among Comprehensive Disaster Management Programme (CDMP) Stakeholders”, “Dhaka City State of Environment report: 2005”, “Management of Land-Based Coastal Pollution under GPA programme”, “National Action Plan for Adaptation to Climate Change (NAPA)”, “Global Environment Outlook: Sub regional Inputs on Policy Responses: Review of experiences and lessons” etc.
