Project Description:

The wetland research and training center of BCAS has established in 1995 on its own land at the village Vennabari, Sadar Thana in Gopalganj district.  As its named indicated, it has two major objectives including “research” and “training”. The centre intends to provides research facilities for its own staff members and for visiting researchers. The specific area of research will mainly based on wetland resources, people’s livelihood, and environment and development. Furthermore, It will also provide facilities for training and workshop, publish research document for dissemination research findings among policy makers, scholars and other readers.

Expected Outputs:

Annual Reports of WRTC activities are being prepared regularly since 1996. It has developed low cost fish fingerlings production and table fish production techniques at its own campus. Further more it developed different techniques for conservation of plant and animal Bio-diversity in the Chanda Beel area over six years.

Its campus is one of the best environment conservation center in the country. Uncountable number of wild birds, animals and plants including medicinal plants are available in the campus and those are already attack many people from different regions to visit regularly.
