In response to the devastating and unprecedented cyclone and tidal bore that hit the coastal areas of Chittagong and Cox’s Bazar on 29 April 1991, BCAS undertook an environmental and perceptional study to assess the impact and findings thereof appeared in the report published by BCAS in 1991. The present longitudinal study undertaken a year after the event is a result of field data collected by researchers, interviews with experts and indepth case studies. “The editor has gotten one important message across with great success that it is a corporable battle fought at many levels, at various fronts. It is not only a document of what has been but a memory trigger of what has to be if a battle against what is called “Doomsday” is to be waged.
