Descriptiton : Dhaka City – State of Environment 2005 was prepared by The Department of Environment (DoE), Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF), Government of Bangladesh (GoB), and in association with Bangladesh Centre for Advanced Studies (BCAS) as the national collaborating centre. Financial support was provided by United Nations Environment Programme Regional Resource Centre for Asia and the Pacific (UNEP RRC.AP). The key objective of the report is to facilitate informed and efficient decision making to support sustainable development and provide capacity building training on integrated environmental assessment using specially developed training tools and methodologies. The state of environment report 2005 explains key environmental concerns, issues and challenges of Dhaka City. It has also prioritised and analysed nine key environmental issues in greater detail with recommendations to improve environmental quality of Dhaka City. The preparation process was interactive and participatory; different stakeholders provided their inputs from inception to finalisation.
