Main Objective:   To undertake a comprehensive assessment of changes in water cycle, changing pattern of flood and intensity of drought, and causes behind such changes.
Brief Description: This project was located in Tangail (Inside and outside embankment), Nawabganj and Rajshahi (areas characterized with severe and moderate drought). The project made an assessment of changes in water cycle, changing flood patterns, intensity of drought, reasons behind such changes, consequences of such changes on the rights of local people including their livelihood, security, practices and reliance on agriculture, forests, fisheries, housing sectors and gender relations. The methodological approach used for this study was baseline survey, FGD and PRA. Documents relating to existing coping strategies and practices flood drought have been reviewed. The existing strategies and practices have been categorized based on their innovativeness, effectiveness and outcome, socio-economic development and livelihoods opportunities.
Output The project has produced data on adaptation strategy to climate change. The study highlights facts about coping strategies of people during climatic changes that affect or may affect their livelihood.
