Main Objective:   To provide capacity building on integrated environmental assessment using specially developed training tools for preparation of the Dhaka City SoE 2003.
Brief Description: The project aim was to enhance the capacity of government in Bangladesh to make accurate environmental decision towards sustainable development; enhance the availability of information on all aspects of environment and socio-economic development and establish a strong information network with a uniform format of data. The project focused on analysing existing data and information, and prepared Dhaka City SoE 2003.
Output The project has strengthened capacity and assisted the government in establishing strong information base for data processing, modelling and analysis requirements that supports State of the Environment (SoE) assessments and reporting, and improves the basis for decision making in the handling of important and emerging environment problems.
