Main Objective:   The objective of the project was to assess economic priorities of 14 selected countries and find out ways to reduce GHG without obstructing development efforts.
Brief Description: Fourteen countries were selected on the basis of energy consumption patterns of various sectors through detailed analysis and case study method and the countries were purposively selected for this study. The study was conducted, keeping in mind that the reduction of greenhouse gases can be done along with development efforts (win-win option). The case study identified some sectors in Bangladesh which have already incorporated certain policies for GHG abatement. These policy options will facilitate economic growth and reduce atmospheric concentration of GHG.
Output A research report detailing the list of mitigation potential projects and assessment of economic priorities was prepared. It was revealed that economic development efforts can be undertaken along with potential mitigation projects and activities as part of win-win approach.
