Main Objective:   The objectives of the project were to computerize and modernize the land record maps and Khatians by using the GIS and Bangla database, and to install computer system for keeping the equipment operation.
Brief Description: BCAS in association with the local partners on behalf of the Directorate of Land Records and Surveys (DLRS) under the Ministry of Land of the Government of Bangladesh accomplished the project. A customized Geographic Information System (GIS) software was developed for digitization and printing of Mauza Maps in Bangla under the PC Arc/Info environment. It also customized a module linking non-spatial database, query and reports. Piloted the maps and database as per user requirements. Orientation training on using AutoCAD was facilitated. GIS database of three Upazilas were digitized and handed over to the DLRS.
Output Digitalized land record maps in Bangla. Prepared Khatian database in Bangla and linked the database with land record maps. Conducted training programmes. Developed application methodology for transferring drawings from one platform to another. Hardware maintenance of two interlined Bangla computerized digital map and Khatian printing system was also done.
